1. The first nest
Sit on the floor. Stack the arches inside one another — the largest, then the next, all the way to the smallest. Then offer the smallest to your child. They will know what to do.
2. The tunnel
Stand a single arch on its ends. A small ball rolls under. A car. A finger.
3. The bridge
Two arches, balanced. Span them. Drive a small wooden vehicle across.
4. The colour sort
Set the arches out in a half-fan. Hand your child a basket of small objects from your kitchen — pegs, spoons, lemons — and watch them find each one a colour-home.
5. The fence
Stand all twelve arches in a row. A small enclosure for a few wooden animals — Ostheimer, Holztiger — to live in for the afternoon.
6. The Christmas tree
Stack them upright, largest at the base, smallest at the top. The cone you didn't know was hiding in the rainbow.
7. The mandala
On a tray. Eight arches arranged in a star, the smaller four nested between. A still life that lives for an hour and then becomes the next thing.
8. The chair, the table, the bowl
Each arch becomes a thing. Name them aloud — your child learns nouns and the soft fact that one object can be many.
9. The colour-of-the-day
Pick one arch in the morning. Notice that colour all day — at the park, in the kitchen, in the bath.
10. The grandmother shelf
Empty everything onto a low shelf, alone. Let it sit. Walk away. Come back in an hour to whatever your child built.
